§ Start · /start

Adamant in five steps.

A five-minute scroll. By the end, you can explain what Adamant is, where ADM comes from, how privacy works, how the chain stays alive, and what to read next. No prior crypto knowledge required.

This page describes what the chain will be. It is not yet. That distinction is the point.

§ 01 / What it is

A base layer that holds money.

Adamant is a Layer 1 blockchain protocol. Not a smart-contract playground, not a scaling layer — a settlement layer designed to outlive its builders.

Halo 2 recursive verification A single recursive proof attests to the validity of all earlier proofs; a phone can verify the chain from one anchor. individual transaction proofs ANCHOR Recursive proof PHONE verifies all
Recursive verification · WP §7.5, §8.5

A small set of validators produces blocks. A recursive zero-knowledge proof attests to every transaction since genesis. A phone can verify the whole chain from a single anchor. There is no foundation that can pause it, no admin key that can move funds, no governance contract that can rewrite the rules.

§ 02 / How ADM exists

Burn to mint.

The only way ADM enters circulation during the launch phase: burn an external asset (BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC) at a verifiably-unspendable address; the validator set verifies the burn proof and mints ADM at the launch-phase rate.

Burn-to-mint flow Four supported source assets (BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC) burn to a verifiably-unspendable address; Adamant validators verify the burn proof and mint ADM at the launch-phase rate. SOURCE CHAIN BTC ETH USDT USDC STEP 01 Burn to unspendable address PROOF STEP 02 Verify validators STEP 03 Mint ADM USD-equivalent at design time tokens permanently destroyed 20 ADM / USD-eq · capped
Burn-to-mint flow · WP §10.2.3
Burn 70 %
Validator 30 %

100 000 000 ADM total. 70 M drains through burn-to-mint. 30 M drains through validator block rewards. Five-year cap; unclaimed at the cap is destroyed. No foundation allocation, no premine, no investor round (WP §10.2).

§ 03 / How privacy works

Shielded by default, disclosed by intent.

Adamant transactions encrypt sender, recipient, amount and memo on-device before broadcast. The validity proof rides alongside. Observers see the envelope and the proof; only the holder — or a view-key recipient — reads the contents.

Shielded vs transparent state A side-by-side comparison of what observers can see for shielded versus transparent objects on Adamant. DEFAULT Shielded Existence visible Validity proof visible Fee visible Sender encrypted Recipient encrypted Amount encrypted OPT-IN Transparent Existence visible Validity proof n/a Fee visible Sender visible Recipient visible Amount visible
Privacy is structural · WP §7.1

Selective disclosure is user-controlled. Issue a view key scoped to a date range, an amount band, a counterparty, or a contract; revoke it whenever. The protocol contains no mechanism by which anyone — including validators, the original implementers, or governments — can compel decryption against your will (WP §4.4).

§ 04 / How the chain stays alive

A small active set, transferable but continuous.

Floor 7. Ceiling 75 at launch. First-come, first-served with mutual-consent slot transfer. Below the floor, the chain halts on disagreement rather than producing blocks under reduced safety.

DAG-BFT vertex/round structure Each validator proposes one vertex per round; vertices reference parents in the previous round. Mysticeti-shaped DAG-BFT consensus. ROUND r ROUND r+1 ROUND r+2 ROUND r+3 V1 V2 V3 V4 V5 Each validator proposes one vertex per round, referencing 2f+1 parents from the previous round.

A.01

Node Runner

Stake floor 1 000 ADM. Produces blocks. 28-day unbonding. Subject to liveness, equivocation, and double-sign slashing.

A.02

Node Watcher

Stake floor 100 ADM. Publishes attestations and DA samples. 7-day unbonding. Slashable for false claims.

A.03

Genesis cohort

The first 75 active-set slots receive a permanent on-chain marker (non-transferable) and a tradeable Genesis NFT (WP §8.1.9).
